Brother's Creek

Gerard Laman.

We started this hike on Sunday with five BOC members and two guests. It was a great day for hiking with a temperature of about 20 o C and not a cloud in the sky. At the start of the hike was a sign that the two bridges across the Brothers Creek, at the Crossover Trail and the Baden Powell Trail were closed (or destroyed). We therefore decided to start on the Fire Road and that we only would do a loop with Lost Lake and Blue Gentian Lake and return via the Fire Road. We followed the Fire Road to the junction with the Lost Lake Trail. At this point there is the only bridge that crosses the Brother’s Creek. The Lost Lake Trail was challenging because several large trees had been blown-over and required climbing over or crawling under. The trail from Lost Lake to Blue Gentian Lake had in addition to blown-over trees also some creeks we had to ford. At Blue Gentian Lake we stopped for lunch and after lunch we followed the Brothers Creek trail back to the bridge that connect to the Fire Road. We continued our return via the Fire Road back to the cars. We all enjoyed this hike on a sunny day, including scrambling over and under several large trees and fording some small creeks.

Thanks to the drivers, Jim and Gerard
