Lindeman Lake

This lake near the Chilliwack River Valley was named in 1951 after local mining prospector Charles Lindeman.  He lived in the area between 1911 and 1942, and must have hiked extensively here while searching for precious minerals.  No doubt he would have visited this beautiful lake a number of times.  Our group of six members made the steep hike to the lake's edge to marvel at its many hues of green, then proceeded along its western side.  We passed by, around and between, many large fallen evergreen trees from a March 2026 windstorm.  Several shades of gold and orange maple leaves provided a fine contrast to blue skies and the green water.  The beach at lake's end offered several members the opportunity to cool off.   Much colder than it looks !  

What a magnificent way to spend one of the last days of summer 2026 !
