Gold Creek, Golden Ears Park
Gerard Laman
On a sunny Sunday morning with some overcast clouds, ten BOC members started the hike on the Lower Falls Trail in Golden Ears Park. This trail is on the East side of Gold Creek and lead to the Lower Falls. Along this trail we had good views of the creek and the Lower Falls. From there we had to scramble up the connector trail to the East Canyon Trail. The first half of the connector trail was difficult and required hand and foot work. When we reached the East Canyon Trail we hiked to the Gold Creek Bridge to get a good look at the creek from the bridge which was built in 2015. We returned to the East Canyon Trail and continued our hike to the Viewpoint Beach where we stopped for lunch. One of our hikers showed us how to walk on water when crossing the Gold Greek. It was a great day for a hike with beautiful views!
Thanks to Yoko and Gerard for driving!
