Norvan Falls

Gerard Laman.

We started the hike on Saturday morning with eight BOC members on this beautiful but cool Saturday morning. The trail to Norvan Falls is in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. We started on the Lynn Loop and Cedars Mill Trails that follows the Lynn Creek. The creek was not flowing fully due to lack of rain we have had this past summer. After about 4km we continued via the Third Debris Chute to the Headwaters Trail to hike to the falls. This part of the trail has several scrambling creeks crossings which were fortunately almost dry. The forest was very green with moss-covered trees and many clusters of mushrooms. When we reached the Norvan Creek we had to hike for about 200m upstream to get to the base of the Norvan Falls. The falls were still spectacular with a good volume of water coming down. We stopped here for lunch after which we retraced our steps to the parking lot. After just over five hours we returned to our cars.

Thanks to the drivers: Lina and Gerard
