Hollyburn and four lakes hike

On October 4 th we hiked with 8 BOC members on this beautiful Sunday morning from the Hollyburn Nordic Ski area to West Lake (# 1). The trail signs were more than three meters high on the trees so they are still visible when there is two-meter snow on the ground. At West Lake (#2) we admired the reflection of the trees in the water. From there we continued the hike to Lost Lake (#3). This part of the trail had some scrambling sections where we had cross small streams and fallen logs. From Lost Lake we continued the hike to the small bridge that crosses Brothers Creek. After crossing the bridge, we followed the Brothers Creek Trail to Blue Gentian Lake (#4). We topped here for lunch and after which we continued the hike on the Baden Powell Trail back to First Lake and the parking lot. This was a great day for a great hike with beautiful nature including an abondance of mushrooms.
