Eagle Bluffs via Black Mountain Trail
A total of nine hikers gathered at Burnaby City Hall at 7:30 AM and made our way to Cypress Mountain. We began our hike around 8:30 AM from the Cypress Mountain
downhill parking lot. It was a nice, clear day with a comfortable temperature. We started the hike with a great workout up to Cabin Lake. After enjoying the nice view at the lake, we headed to the Black Mountain North Summit. We saw the Lions clearly from there, as well as the Sunshine Coast. After that, we enjoyed a nice mountain and ocean view at the Black Mountain South Summit. The trail became pretty muddy after this point. However, we were rewarded with a gorgeous view at Eagle Bluffs. We all had a good time, and some of us played with ravens, grey jays, and chipmunks. On our way back, two swimmers swam in Sam Lake. The lake looked more beautiful and peaceful on a clear day. The rest of us enjoyed the beach and blueberry picking. We arrived back at the parking lot around 2:00 PM
Thank you Catherine and Eileen for driving.
