Garibaldi Lake

The Garibaldi Lake hike is a very popular (or classic) hike in Garibaldi Provincial Park. There were 4 hikers who joined this hike.  We began hiking at 8:45 a.m at the trailhead located at Rubble Creek Parking lot. The ascent began almost immediately along Rubble Creek and the way leads steadily and relentlessly upward for 5 km. About 10 minutes after the 5Km mark, we reached the first views of The Barrier. After the 6km mark and a short break, the group took the Taylor Meadows trail up to make a more interesting loop trail. Weather was perfect for this hike. Once we reached Taylor Meadows, Black Tusk , Panorama Ridge and surrounding snowcap mountains came into view. We then left Taylor Meadows and started hiking toward Garibaldi Lake. At 1pm, we arrived at the magnificent Garibaldi Lake. Wow and Wow and Wow. We were all amazed by this superb scenery - a large turquoise lake surrounded by mountains, glaciers, and alpine meadow. Here we had a relaxing lunch/swim break, at 2:30pm we started our hike back, passed the blue-green colour of Lesser Garibaldi Lake, and took a short water/snake beak to enjoy this beautiful view.  Then continued hiking back and  arrived at the Rubble Creek parking lot at 5:30pm.
