LSCR, Rice Lake, Circuit 8 and Varley Trail
Gerard Laman
It was a glorious Saturday morning, April 25 th . With five BOC members we started our hike at the Rice Lake in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. The still water of the lake provided nice reflections of the trees. We continued our hike to the Circuit 8 Trail where there was a warning sign “Difficult, USE AT OWN RISK”, fortunately the trail was not as difficult as the warning sign indicated. On the trail was a large tree that had a passage way carved at the bottom for people to walk through. We returned to Rice Lake and continued our hike to Lynn Headwaters and stopped here for lunch. After lunch we continued the hike on the Varley Trail. We had planned to hike the Baden Powell Trail to the Lynn Creek Suspension Bridge but unfortunately this trail was closed and we continued our hike via the Pipeline Bridge and the 30 Foot Pool to the Suspension Bridge and this part of our hiking trail was very busy. After this we completed the hike to the parking lot.
It was a good hike on a beautiful day!
