Lynn Loop and Headwaters/Rice Lake Hike

On this sunny Saturday morning seven hikers came out to enjoy the beautiful warm, sunny day. Shortly after nine o’clock, the parking
lots at Lynn Headwater Regional Park started to fill up quickly as dog walkers, bikers, and other trail hikers wanted to take advantage as well. Most of the rembrandts of snow/ice had dissipated and our need for crampons ceased to exist only to be left behind to collect dust as we started on our adventure. As we ascended up the trail, some areas of the park needed caution as the melted snow/ice caused some slippery conditions. Crossing over the many water streams and bridges, we finally arrived at our lunch destination at approximately noon. We were in awe as we were greeted with an abundance area for all of us to roam and enjoy the lush trees and running river while taking our lunch break. After lunch, our descent down the trail was quite easy paced, mainly flat ground as we walked beside the raging river. We were greeted at the end with a nice rest stop overlooking the water dam. Sadly, our hike came to an end as we arrived at the parking lot at approximately two thirty in the afternoon.

All members thoroughly enjoyed our hiking trip today!

Thanks Gerard for driving the other car, beautiful photos and being our end-person.
