Sasamat Lake and Buntzen Ridge Trail
It was a great sunny day on Sunday after some very rainy days. We started our hike with eight BOC members and one guest from Sasamat Lake. This hike was originally planned to loop around Buntzen Lake via the Lakeview Trail. Unfortunately, some part of this trail was closed due to the high water level in the lake. The decision was made to go to Sasamat Lake and hike the Buntzen Ridge Trail including a loop around Sasamat Lake. We took a small trail that runs parallel to the Buntzen Ridge Trail that at that section is a gravel road. This small trail is called Ted’s Triple-T on some maps. Along this trail are the remnants of an old car that must have tumbled down from the gravel road. At the Diez Vistas trail junction we had a quick look at a small portion of the Buntzen Lake and returned on the same trail to Sasamat Lake where we had our lunch. We completed our hike by walking the 3km loop around the lake. We all had a great time on this hike with beautiful nature and great sunny weather.
