Sasamat Lake to Diez Vistas

We had four hikers carpooled to Sasamat Lake on Thursday, January 22. The weather surprised us by becoming sunny by noon, which made it great for photo shots and lingering along the trail.
First, we circled the small lake. Then we started the climb up the side of Buntzen Mountain to Diez Vistas #1. The path was a little challenging, for it got steeper and narrower to the top and required extra caution and a few grabs at roots and rocks for support. The effort was well worth it, as it usually is, for we enjoyed a spectacular
vista of Sasamat and Buntzen Lakes, Burrard Inlet and several municipalities from high above as we ate lunch together. We completed the 12 km course in good time.
